JinkoSolar Achieves Significant Breakthrough in N-type TOPCon Perovskite Tandem Solar Panel Cell 33.24% Efficiency

On May 30, 2024, JinkoSolar announced a major breakthrough in its research on N-type TOPCon perovskite tandem cells. According to tests conducted by the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the conversion efficiency of these cells has reached 33.24%, significantly surpassing the previous record of 32.33% held by JinkoSolar for the same type of tandem cells. This achievement marks the 26th time JinkoSolar has set a new world record for efficiency and power in photovoltaic products.

The record-breaking perovskite tandem cells use JinkoSolar’s independently developed N-type high-efficiency monocrystalline passivated contact TOPCon cell as the base cell. Innovations in materials technology, such as ultra-thin poly passivated contact technology, novel textured light-trapping technology, high transparency, high carrier mobility intermediate composite layer materials, and perovskite interface mixed material passivation enhancement technology, have once again pushed the conversion efficiency of perovskite/TOPCon tandem cells to new heights. This groundbreaking achievement not only demonstrates the outstanding performance of TOPCon as a mainstream solar cell technology but also showcases its seamless integration with next-generation perovskite tandem cell technology. This signifies JinkoSolar’s success in breaking the efficiency limits of single-junction silicon cells, opening new possibilities for the future development of the solar energy field.

As a leading company in the photovoltaic solar panel industry, JinkoSolar panel has established a cutting-edge R&D team with over 2,300 members and invests substantial funds annually in technological innovation.
